“Red Carpet to Success”
GOAL #1: Reach for the Stars
Objective: Raise funds for Make a Wish Foundation. Pennsylvania state goal is $7,000.
You need to complete all of these.
- Activity #1:
- Complete fundraising activities for Make a Wish Foundation. It is optional to donate to National DECA’s official charity (MDA) or any other credible charity in addition to or instead of Make a Wish Foundation. Please send check to:

Documentation: Send a copy of the check to State Treasurer Justin Brown by January 18th, 2008.
- Activity #2:
- Create a red carpet theme project (camera, microphone, limo, mock movie box, etc.) to display onstage at the State Career Development Conference with minimum dimensions of 3x4 feet and 3D dimensions of 3 x 4 x 4. The project must be submitted at the registration of the CDC.
GOAL #2: Casting Call
Objective: To increase chapter and state membership.
You need to complete all of these.
- Activity #1:
- Recruit 5 new members in your chapter.
Documentation: Send your chapter’s membership roster to your district representative no later than January 18th, 2008.
Implement three DECA Week promotions around your school and/or community.
Documentation: Submit a detailed explanation of all three promotions to VP Diem Tran by January 18th, 2008.
GOAL #3: Sound Check
Objective: To increase communication on the state level.
You need to complete all of these.
- Activity #1:
- Submit a minimum 250 word e-mail to your district representative on what your school is doing to promote DECA. Your e-mail may be featured in a PA DECA Newsletter or PA DECA website. Please submit by January 18th, 2008 to your district representative.
- Activity #2:
- Send a minimum of 5 candid pictures to Historian Kirndeep Singh no later than January 18th, 2008.
GOAL #4: Your Time to Shine
Objective: To increase chapter involvement within your community.
You only have to do one of the below:
- Activity Option #1:
- Complete a two hour community service project including at least 10 members of your chapter.
Documentation: Submit three pictures of your chapter serving the community to Historian Kirndeep Singh by January 18th, 2007.
- Activity Option #2:
- Host a guest speaker who is a businessperson in your community with at least 10 members of your chapter present.
Documentation: Submit pictures of your chapter with your speaker to Kirndeep Singh and a summary of what was learned to your district representative no later than January 18th, 2008.
- Activity Option #3:
- Give a five minute presentation to leaders of the community and/or prospective members about the values and benefits of DECA.
Documentation: Send a picture of the member speaking with the audience to Historian Kirndeep Singh.
LEVELS OF ACHIEVEMENT
Lead Role
Chapters that complete all four levels will receive statewide recognition on stage at the SCDC and a plaque.
Supporting Role
Chapters that complete three goals will receive acknowledgement at the SCDC
and a plaque.
Stunt Double
Chapters that complete two goals will receive acknowledgement at the SCDC and a certificate.
Extra
Chapters that complete one goal will be acknowledged at the SCDC.
